Little Miss Kitty

One day, my daughter asked if she could play outside and let her go without any question. Away she ran like a lightning, dash to her kitty and sit down with her. The day was sun-drenched yet a little breezy from the gloomy fall just around the corner. She played with her whole heart, not paying attention to time nor gusty wind brushing her hair. She visits the lemon tree; check the fruits to see how big they’ve grown. She loves the outdoor action and can’t seem to get enough even if she plays all day long.

She found this stray kitty caught in an old cooler, trapped inside for days we do not know how many. She was strolling around the house when she perceived the sound meowing, crying for help; followed this sound trail and led her to the cooler. She circled the cooler one time, wondering how a meow comes out of that. She was 4 then and can’t do much to save this poor little kitty that she wish she had as she’s been begging for one since she was three. She called out to me at the same time running with worry painted on her face, describing what she had heard inside the old cooler that has been laying for a month in the backyard and gave me her thoughts: Save the kitty. Together, we went to the cooler, tilt it a few times trying to find the right angle for the kitty to squeeze out and after a few tries – out came the kitty so scared with big wound around her hind legs. The kitty must have been caught between the sharp metal rotating motor while trying to escape.

My daughter took care of the kitty like a loving mommy, feed her and dress her wound with a tape. That was funny but she did what she thinks is right for the kitty. She would make sure the kitty had milk for the day and gently pet her, avoiding the wounded area.  After a day or two the wound starts to dry and kitty looks fine, better than the first day we got her out of the cooler. The Little Miss Kitty, now happy and home with me, decided to stay for good, a home she now calls her own.

Little Miss Kitty, a cat lover named the kitty Blossomed Rose. What a beautiful name indeed.
