Touched by the song "On Eagle's Wings"

The song "On Eagle's Wings" was composed by a catholic priest named Michael Joncas in the year 1979. I have heard the song being played but did not pay any attention until  that day when the choir sang it for the first time and I was there, complete with lyrics. I was hesitating at first since the song was not familiar to my ears. Then it just came to me like a song and felt it like it is within me. The melody came so smooth, it was easy to follow and sing with my heart, giving my all without hesitation. It was a beautiful contemplative song, reflecting on God's mercy and goodness.

This song was based on Psalm 91 and Isaiah 40:31, and is becoming popular hence the words are so felt by the heart. I can say without a doubt that I was touched by the song " On Eagle's Wings".

On Eagle's Wings Lyrics

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,

Who abide in His shadow for life,

Say to the Lord, "My Refuge,

My Rock in Whom I trust."

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,

Bear you on the breath of dawn,

Make you to shine like the sun,

And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

The snare of the fowler will never capture you,

And famine will bring you no fear;

Under His Wings your refuge,

His faithfulness your shield.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,

Bear you on the breath of dawn,

Make you to shine like the sun,

And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

You need not fear the terror of the night,

Nor the arrow that flies by day,

Though thousands fall about you,

Near you it shall not come.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,

Bear you on the breath of dawn,

Make you to shine like the sun,

And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

For to His angels He's given a command,

To guard you in all of your ways,

Upon their hands they will bear you up,

Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,

Bear you on the breath of dawn,

Make you to shine like the sun,

And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
