No water

Suddenly, the water no longer comes.

The last couple of weeks I have noticed sand sitting in the bottom of my washer and the toilets after each use. It’s not that much but evident of it’s presence. I wonder where they came from. We have a well that supplies our water through the years as we lived in the country. And then last night, the water went off. That means there will be no water this morning to start the day fresh because with no water comes no shower, no brushing teeth, no washing of any kind and no clean toilet. It stinks!

It made me think of how important water becomes especially when there is none. Over the years, the deep well has served us well. My husband thinks our well may have gone dry or the water table is so low the pump was sucking only sand and it burned up! The deep well was our source of hydration, from home to garden. How are we going to live without water? It made me sad just to think of no water...

So, I'm sitting here waiting, inside the house hoping for some good news. He came in the house after checking the well and said to me " It is time for a new well." And just like that, he left with no word from me as it was disappointing in my ears. On the other hand, one good thing he did recently some trade work for a well digging company and end up with a newer and deeper well dug. All we need are the pipe and accessories to get this done and so we will have water. I don't know how many days it will take to get it finished. But this is something to look forward to...

I can't wait for that day. From now on, we will always remember to save water and use it sparingly. The importance of water is slowly creeping in our brains, understanding how hard it would be with no water on hand. It became obvious to me that water needs our respect!
